In relation to the sale of the land refered [referred] to I presume I shall be at home in time to attend to it myself. in case I should not have the opportunity of returning in time will in due time give you the necessary instructions in relation to the management thereof I am pleased to hear the goods have at last arrived any supplies you may have more than you think you will be needed for that store box up until my return I will make a disposition of them I presume you will find many of the goods suitable to the fall trade as well as the summer, as relates to the debt on Mr [unclear: Keener]I gave the necessary instructions to the agent charged [deleted: the] with the collection thereof, which if complied with would have secured payment there As to Allisonand Brysonputing [putting] up a store at Keeners place I have not the slightest objection. In relation to the [illegible] turnpike road presuming that I will return in time and not having a distinct recollection of the [unclear: charter] am unable to give you any opinion respecting it. I anticipate being at home before [unclear: much is ruined] and make all necessary arrangements respecting it the want of Water for the purposes of the Tan yard I presume could not be supplied in any other way than the one you have adopted. It is hoped that difficulty has been removed before this [unclear: tis] time by the falling of rain, as Providence generally sends it in due season and of times seems to with hold [withhold] it to make man sensible of his dependence upon him for those blessings. As to the loss of the horse you make mention of you seem to have made for it the proper [illegible]. Those that have must loose [lose] recollect man is liable to die as well as horses.

I think I shall arrange my business to leave here betwixt the 10 [deleted: the] & 15 of next month. Should I find that I can not make arrangements to do so will inform you my health [deleted: is] continues good, and I am as close confined to business as you [unclear: were] saw me give my respects to your family and all inquiring friends

    yours & c [et cetera]
