    pleased to hear Mr Brysoncomplied with my request in examining the ginsang [ginseng] and the conduct of H P. Kingin managing it so well affords me much satisfaction

    The removal of the tanyard I find was attended with less trouble than we had anticipated. have no doubt the situation is as good as any on the premises, If you need any assistance in the store [added: I presume it would be advisable to] take in Mr Brysons son. Take in no travellers except such as compelled by circumstances, you state it keeps you busy to keep things strait [straight] I shall consider you have done well if you keep them strait [straight] by being busy. To send to the Qualla Townany surpluss [surplus] of goods on hand but [illegible] with yourself not to extend to any remnants or old goods only such as were purchased last spring To purchase corn for doubtful debts goods trade articles and in discount of trade debts. have it cribed [cribbed] where most convenient Commissioner I A [Indian Affairs] has not completed his decisions presume he will shortly will return immediately after wards [afterwards] enclosed an argument on the rights of Indians East
